- LaGrange, ca. 1915. Buildings on the campus of Southern Female College. Seen are a dormitory and the Sarah Ferrell Lyceum. The lyceum was used as a dormitory and then later part of it was used as classrooms. The school was organized in 1842 and over the years its name changed several times. It was called Southern Female College from 1854 until it closed in 1917. The post office currently is located on this Church Street site.
