- Description:
- Griffin, 1936. Crowd attending political rally which was held at Sam Bailey Grammar School. Note the loudspeakers at far left. The school, built by Gilman Drake in 1870, was a private school. Later, when the Griffin Public School System was established, the Sam Bailey building was donated to the system. In 1953 the Griffin system merged with the Spalding County School System. Sam Bailey became a part of this system, too.
