- Atlanta [Fulton County], October 24, 1889. Mamie Winburn and Walter K. Downs on the day of their wedding. The wedding took place at the Cotton Exposition in Atlanta. They were one of two couples wed at the exposition as part of a promotional event. The couples' wedding attire was made of cotton bagging. Miss Winburn was from Conyers in Rockdale County and Mr. Downs was from Cora in Newton County. The photograph was taken by Kuhns, whose studio at the time was located at 33 1/2 Whitehall Street in Atlanta, GA.
