- Description:
- Cuthbert, 1976. Law office of Arthur Hood located at 109 Court Street. Hood came to Cuthbert in 1853. He was an attorney and later a judge. The office is an example of a Greek Revival temple-form structure which is characterized by the entrance being in a gable end rather than on a side of the structure. The structure was later used as an insurance office and as an office for the Lovett Construction Company. The Lovett family gave the building to the Randolph County Historical Society. It was to be moved to Andrew College where it was to be restored for possible use as a chapel. However, during the move in June of 1976, the structure was damaged beyond repair.
