- Cuthbert, 1894. Walter Ernest King was born August 25, 1872 and died October 25, 1946. Mr. King came to Cuthbert from Upson County in 1908. He and his brother, C.B. King, operated the King Lumber Company. He was instrumental in bringing the cattle industry into Randolph County. He served as mayor of Cuthbert and was a member of the Randolph County Commission for about 25 years.
