- Cuthbert, 1912. Edwin Toombs, son of Doctor R.E. Toombs, rides a horse that had belonged in a circus. The horse got sick and was left behind in Cuthbert when the circus moved to the next town. Edwin's brother, Henry Johnston Toombs, was a prominent Atlanta architect. Note the black woman holding the horse's rein.
