- Cuthbert, 1920s. King Lumber Company moved its business to Cuthbert ca. 1908. Walter Ernest King came with the company. He and his brother, C.B. King, owned and operated the company. During the 1920s and 1930s several hundred people were employed by King Lumber Company and it was one of the most prosperous industries in the county. Note the stacks of lumber awaiting sale.
