- John A. Reynolds at age 19. He was born in 1851. He came to Clayton in 1898 where he established the Clayton Tribune. In addition to publishing this newspaper for many years, he served as county surveyor; was a civil engineer; and owned and managed apple orchards. He died in 1936 at the age of 85.
