- Tiger, ca. 1930-1940s. John Virgil Arrendale, Sr. He graduated from the Georgia College of Agriculture in 1905. He served as principal of the Rabun Gap School; was the first county agent in Rabun County; was the county surveyor for a number of years; and was instrumental in the development of Black Rock State Park. He died in 1972 at the age of 92.
