- Description:
- Tiger, ca. 1950. Mrs. Lizzie Keason sitting in a rocking chair in front of her fireplace. She is holding a cat. Mrs. Keason was a midwife who delivered over 500 babies in Rabun and Habersham counties. She never charged more than $5.00 for her services and many times she received much less. See the November 6, 1960 Atlanta Journal-Constitution Magazine for an article about Mrs. Keason and her experiences as a midwife.
