- Thursday, October 5, 1950 Putnam Corn at That - County Agent John A. Smith and Clyde Carpenter are shown above looking over a field of corn on Mr. Carpenter's place. Mr. Carpenter made a test, using 17 different varieties of corn. All of it grew off well and will make a fine crop despite the drowth. Mr. Carpenter says it is difficult to say just which is best until he gathers and weighs the crop.
