- "Cedartown, ca. 1900. Samuel Benedict Memorial School, built 1895. Two miles south of Cedartown. This structure was later destroyed by fire. Founded by Reverend George Benedict- Episcopal minister- at first it was a boarding school. Later became a local district county school 1912 (public). School named for Reverend's father, Samuel Benedict."--from field notes
