2003/07/11: Harris, William Julius (1868-1932) He was the great-grandson of Charles Hooks. Born in Cedartown, Polk County, Ga., February 3, 1868. He was a member of the Democrat Party, a member of the Georgia state senate from 1911-12, and served as the Georgia Democratic state chair from 1912-13. He was a U.S. Senator from Georgia from 1919-32. He died in office in April 18, 1932 and was buried at Greenwood Cemetery, Cedartown, Ga. - External Identifiers:
