- "Covington, 1925. Dr. A.S. Hopkins, Mayor of Covington, breaking dirt on the square in 1925 for first paving. Dr. Hopkins was a dentist. In this group are four mayors of Covington, Dr. Hopkins with pick, Mr. Miles Turner, Mr. Charles Andrew Sockwell and the young man in center lifting his hat is Mr. Henry Odum. The three policemen will be remembered as Mr. Brad Bohannon, who made the phrase "HUP THAR" famous, Mr. George Watson, and Mr. Gene Bunchellon."--from field notes
