- Description:
- Fort Benning, 1925. Tents used to house enlisted men and officers. Silo in background was part of 1800 acre plantation owned by Arthur Bussey. It was sold to the U.S. government so that an infantry school might be established. Camp Benning relocated here from the Macon Road site.
2003/07/03: Fort Benning was established in 1918 as home to the United States Army Infantry School. It is still home to this institution. - External Identifiers:
