- Forsyth, 1901. Ponder-Hill home. The original part of the house was brought by ox cart from Cabaniss and constructed on what was then called Fayetteville Road. This original part may have dated from 1827. By 1859 J.M. Ponder was the owner. It remained in the Ponder family for 50 years. By 1917 it was in the Charner W. Hill family. Over the years the various owners added to the house and remodeled it. Charner W. Hill contributed the most extensive remodeling in 1927 and 1950.
