- Forsyth, 1924. Catherine Passolt poses for a photograph. She was a freshman at Bessie Tift College. This photograph was included in the college yearbook, Chiaroscuro. Note her formal dress and the shade on the lamp behind her. The school had been chartered in 1849 as Forsyth Female Collegiate Institute and now is known as Tift College.
2003/07/09: Tift College merged with Mercer University in 1986. With the merger, Mercer promised to uphold the heritage and ideals of the original Tift College. Mercer University maintains a Tift College alumni office. - External Identifiers:
