- Thomson, 1968. These men were attending groundbreaking ceremonies for a branch of the First National Bank that was to be built on Jackson Street. The bank, whose main office was located on Main Street, was organized in 1902 as Farmers and Merchants Bank. It became a national bank and the name changed ca. 1907. These men were officers of the bank 1968-1979. Left to right: James A. Rivers, William C. Leverette, J.D. Baston, Junior.
