- Thomson, ca. 1969. Monroe Kimball, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the First National Bank located on Main Street. The bank was organized in 1902 as Farmers and Merchants Bank. It became a national bank and its name changed ca. 1907. Mr. Kimball went on to become the head of the branch of the Federal Reserve Bank in Atlanta.
