- Thomson, April 1953. Participant in the Teenage Drivers' Rodeo maneuvers his automobile along Main Street in front of Thomson High School. Members of Post 25, Georgia State Patrol located north of Thomson on Georgia Highway 17 can be seen assisting with the events. A parade had preceded this activity. Governor Herman E. Talmadge was on hand to address the crowd that turned out and later in the day a barbecue was held on the school's athletic field.
