- Description:
- Thomson, ca. 1947. Group of men watches as workers at the Knox Brothers Lumber Company cut lumber so that it will fit together to make a prefabricated home. The company located on Railroad Street was begun in 1932 by Wyck A. and Peter S. Knox, Junior. Lawrence and Robert E. Knox were also associated with the firm. It was one of the first in the area to build prefabricated homes. An assembly line process was used to manufacture the pieces of the home. The company was later purchased by National Homes.
