- Macon County, ca. 1890. Members of the Hicks family in front of their home located about six miles south of Reynolds. It was built in the early 1850s and burned in the early 1920s. Left to right: Kate McMichael Hicks (Mrs. Rufus), Elizabeth Howe Hicks (Mrs. Jones), Catherine Hicks. The black woman at far left was known as Aunt Rachael.
