- "Lumpkin County, 1899. Mule team hauling materials to Consolidated Mine (machinery came from Gainesville). Wagon bearing the crusher and machines for Consolidated Mine Company. Operation under management of John L. Burns. Machinery weighed 1300 pounds. Wagon had 8" tires and helped along by 16 mules- 12pulling, 4 pushing."--from field notes
