This photograph was taken by Beverly Harrell who was of Valdosta, Georgia at the time the photograph was taken.
2003/06/30: The strike that these farmers are participating in began in Springfield, Colorado in response to a rise in the price of seed, fuel, pesticides, and other farm costs and a decline in the cost of crops. Participating farmers stopped buying and selling any products beginning on December 14, 1977, unless their demands were met.
