- Lowndes County, ca. 1900. Members of the Valdosta Videttes on a camping trip. Thurston Roberts seated at far left. In the summer of 1887 a voluntary military company was formed known as Company B, Fourth Infantry, Georgia State Troops. Valdosta Videttes was chosen as a company name. It disbanded in 1912.
