- Dublin, June 1979. Some members of the Oconee Chapter of the United Daughters of the Confederacy in front of the Freeman H. Rowe home located on Rowe Street. In 1865 Jefferson Davis was fleeing Union forces. He stopped at this home and was given supplies to continue his journey.
