- Hart County, ca. 1921. Alford's Steel Bridge across the Savannah River on the Bankhead Highway near Hartwell. It was constructed by A. N. Alford, Sr. This area is the present site of Lake Hartwell constructed by the U. S. Corps of Engineers 1955-1963.
