- Perry, May 21, 1908. Crowd gathers at the dedication of the Confederate Monument. Members of the Perry Rifles fire a salute at the close of the ceremonies. The monument was located in the crossroads of what is now U.S. 41 and 341. It was later relocated on the courthouse square.
