- Description:
- Hall County, 1935. Dedication of the Longstreet Memorial Bridge. It was named in honor of Gen. James Longstreet. He was born in 1821; graduated from West Point in 1842; served in the Mexican War; resigned his commission to fight for the Confederacy; held a number of federal appointments after the Civil War. He died in Gainesville, Ga. on Jan. 2, 1904 and is buried in Alta Vista Cemetery. Left to right: Josiah Crudup, Ben Ames Williams, ?.
