- Description:
- Gainesville, 1895. Public school building after a snowfall of two feet. This structure was erected in 1874 as the Gainesville Male and Female College. It was a private education institution until 1882 when the city assumed control. About 1902 the building was deemed unsafe and it was torn down. The Main Street School was erected on the site.
