- Near Clarkesville, 1931. Members of the graduating class of the Ninth District Agricultural and Mechanical School pose for a photograph. The school was located about two miles north of Clarkesville. It began ca. 1907 and was discontinued in 1933. In addition to academic subjects, students received instruction in agricultural and mechanical areas as well as domestic science.
2003/06/05: Located on Georgia Highway 197N, the Georgia 9th District Agricultural and Mechanical School (1912-1933) gave way to Habersham College (1938-1943). North Georgia Technical Institute was established at the same location in 1943, the year that Habersham College closed. - External Identifiers:
