- Description:
- Union Point, 1976. "Hawthorne Heights" was built ca. 1867 to 1869. Members of the Hart, Sibley, and Lamb families have occupied it over the years. The name comes from the fact that a thick hawthorne hedge surrounded a large garden. The style of the house was originally raised cotton. (See: grn144) In 1900 the house was renovated. The porch was torn down and pillars were added as seen in this photograph.
