- Gordon County, ca. 1905. Tennie Mae Owens (1885-1966) poses for a photograph as she sits behind the wheel of an early automobile. Note that the steering wheel is on the right, not the left, side. She was the daughter of Rufus R. Owens (1838-1905) and Sardia Wilson Owens (1842-1919). On April 7, 1921 Tennie married Walter Wallace Slagle (1891-1955).
