- Calhoun, 1908. Infant, Willie Hamilton Boston, sits on the lap of her black nurse, Mama Jo Hunt. The baby, born in 1908, was the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. John H. Boston. Mama Hunt was born a slave. Members of her family grew to prominence in Gordon County and have maintained that position over the years.
