- Calhoun, May 23, 1905. Said to be the first rural mail carriers in Gordon County. They pose for a photograph in their horse and buggies Left to right: Cobb McEntyre, Will Buford, J.V. Adams, Henry Fox, John Ray. Note the muddy condition of North Park Avenue. Until rural free delivery service was begun ca. 1900, the only way to get one's mail was to go to the post office in Calhoun
