- Calhoun, 1961. Gordon County Courthouse which was completed in 1889. Two men associated with the building of the courthouse were William Dowling and W.L. Hillhouse. The structure was demolished shortly after this photograph was taken.
2003/06/19: According to Gordon County Courthouse, located online at http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/courthouses/gordonCH.htm, this courthouse was built in 1889 after Gordon County's first courthouse, completed in 1852, was destroyed by a storm in 1888. Gordon County's second courthouse served the county until 1961, when the present courthouse was completed. - External Identifiers:
