- Calhoun, 1889. Gordon County Courthouse under construction. Two men associated with the building of the courthouse were William Dowling and W.L. Hillhouse. The courthouse was demolished in 1961.
2003/06/13: According to Gordon County Courthouse, located online at http://www.cviog.uga.edu/Projects/gainfo/courthouses/gordonCH.htm, this courthouse was built in 1889 after Gordon County's first courthouse, completed in 1852, was destroyed by a storm in 1888. Gordon County's second courthouse served the county until 1961, when the present courthouse was completed. - External Identifiers:
