- "Atlanta, Ga., May 1, 1886. Portrait of Jefferson Davis taken during Davis' visit to Atlanta to dedicate the Ben Hill Monument. While in Atlanta Davis visited C.W. Motes' studio or had this portrait taken at the home of Mr. Ben Hill. Davis was ill at the time and had difficulty getting around.
