- Description:
- "Atlanta, Ga., ca. 1864. View of railroad station and train before the burning of Atlanta by Sherman's troops. The railroad station was destroyed shortly thereafter as well as all railroad ordinance in the area. This view quite possibly captures one of the last trains to leave the Atlanta area before the taking of Atlanta by Sherman and depicts the mass confusion of routing supplies and ordinance before Sherman's onslaught.
This is an albumen print and a stereo view and may have been taken by George N. Barnard. "--from field notes - External Identifiers:
