- 1919. The mayor and his wife of a town in France where Elizabeth Tuller and Essie Roberts of Georgia lived and worked with the Women's Overseas Service League. They stayed in the mayor's home. In fact, he gave up his room to them, and he stayed over in the stables. Ms. Tuller helped to found this organization. She worked with the soldiers in the canteen. Later she married William Perrin Nicolson, Jr. of Atlanta, GA.
