- Evans County, ca. 1970s. Side view of early Evans County house located 3 miles Southeast of Claxton on the south side of Bull Creek. Property bought by Uriah A. Rogers in 1856 and given to son, James, in 1868. House dates before 1868. James sold it to his brother, John, in 1870. Known as John Rogers place since he made additions to it, and his family lived there through August 1891. Home still in Rogers family.
