- "Bertha Mae Hightower came to live with Grady Isaiah George family when she was 10 years old in 1914-her daddy left her mother with 10 children, she went through 7th grade-then worked for George family. She died 1951 & George family attended funeral. Family built her a house behind their home. Donated by W.L. George."--from field notes
