- Georgia, ca. 1862. Portrait of William Hardy Bowman at 18 years old in his Confederate Army uniform. He was part of the Dooly Guards from Dooly Georgia. Put 60 Reg. Co. GA Vol. Inf. Evans Brigade, Gordon's Division, Army of North Virginia. Dooley Guards Formed in Chatham County. Bowman married Nancy Pitts in 1867. They had 7 children: 1. George Jefferson Bowman (b. 1870) 2. Matilda Jane Bowman (b. 1868) 3. John Bowman 4. Mary Bowman 5. Federick Bowman 6. Wiley Bowman 7. Susianne Bowman.
