- Albany, ca. 1860s-1872. William Lewis Gardner Davis (1821-1872) was a general practitioner and surgeon. He had an office in the 100 block of Broad Street and also made house calls on horseback. During the Civil War he served as a surgeon with the 25th Regiment Georgia Volunteer Infantry.
