2003/01/27: According to Vanishing Dekalb, by the Dekalb Historical Society, (pg. 125) Borglum, who carved the Lincoln statue in Washington D.C., "made the first attempt to carve a Confederate Memorial on Stone Mountain. - External Identifiers:
