- Description:
- near Climax, late 1940s. A close-up of the farmhouse at Curry Hill Plantation shows the hitching post in the front yard. The farmhouse was begun in 1842 and was built by slaves. The kitchen is the one-story room at the right, which was added on in the early 1900s. The plantation is located six miles east of Bainbridge and two miles west of Climax. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, because it typified a historical South Georgia farm.
