- near Climax, late 1940s. View of Curry Hill Plantation seen looking toward the west. The farmhouse, begun in 1842 and built by slaves, is visible at left. The old water tank can be seen in the center. The plantation is located six miles east of Bainbridge and two miles west of Climax. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, because it typified a historical South Georgia farm.
2003/01/21: The historical marker is located about 6 miles east of Bainbridge on U.S. Highway 84. - External Identifiers:
