- Bainbridge, ca. 1920. Temple Bethel, the Jewish Synagogue, located at the corner of Broad and Evans Streets was built in 1918. One of the early organizers of the Jewish community was Mrs. Melvin H. Nussbaum. Mrs. Julian B. Ehrlich strongly supported starting a Sabbath School. Also, Isadore Kwilecki contributed a great deal to the Temple.
