- Description:
- Savannah, ca. 1900. Chippewa Square looking north along Bull Street to Forsyth Park. It was named in 1815 for Major General Jacob Brown who led American Army to victory over the British in 1814 Battle of Chippewa. In 1871 the fountain added to square. Later monuments to General LaFayette McLaws and General Francis S. Bartow erected. These were relocated in Forsyth Park ca. 1910 when monument to James Edward Oglethorpe erected in Chippewa Square.
