- Description:
- Savannah, ca. late 1950s. Warren A. Candler Hospital located at Drayton and Huntington Streets. It was founded in 1803 as a seamen's hospital. In 1819 it was moved to this present site. Over the years it has had a number of name changes. In 1931 the Methodist Church acquired it and named it in honor of Bishop Candler. In 1968 it became known as Candler General Hospital.
